As devastating flash floods continue to grip Central Texas, celebrities including Matthew McConaughey, Jennifer Garner, and Hilary Duff are speaking out, offering heartfelt messages and calls for action as the death toll rises past 80 and many remain missing.
One of the hardest-hit areas is Camp Mystic in Hunt, Texas, which confirmed the loss of 27 campers and counselors. As of Monday, ten campers and one counselor were still unaccounted for following the July Fourth weekend disaster along the Guadalupe River.

Texas native Matthew McConaughey took to Instagram on Sunday to express his sorrow and urge people to support relief efforts.
“At least 70 lives have been lost, many more are unaccounted for, and countless Texans are hurting – inside and out,” he wrote. “If you’re able, please lend a helping hand where and how you can… Texans are some of the most resilient and generous people on the planet.”

Actress Jennifer Garner, who was born in Houston, posted a simple but powerful message to her Instagram Story:

Hilary Duff: “Your Loss Is Felt Across the World”
Hilary Duff, also from Houston, shared a deeply emotional message, saying she was “consumed” by the tragedy.
“Heartbroken doesn’t begin to cover it… Praying for even a shred of a miracle—to find a child alive in the wake of this boundless disaster,” she wrote. “Entire families lost. Just gone. It’s too much to comprehend.”
Reflecting on her own memories of summer camp in the Texas Hill Country, Duff added, “You could never imagine an ending this tragic. I’m just so deeply, absolutely sorry. Your loss is felt across the world.”

Actress Meredith Hagner, known for Vacation Friends, recalled her own summers on the Guadalupe River.
“Part of my heart and soul is the Guadalupe River and the Hill Country,” she wrote on Instagram. “My heart is shattered for the parents experiencing the unfathomable.”
Former Disney Channel star Christy Carlson Romano revealed she had even considered sending her daughter to Camp Mystic this summer.
“A lot of people I know send their kids there,” she said. “A few of them don’t know where their kids are or were just recently reunited with them.”
