A music fan says she feels embarrassed after a night of drinking led her to message her celebrity crush.
The woman shared her story on the community forum Mumsnet, where she explained what happened but kept the star’s name private.
“A bit lighthearted. He is a member of a semi-famous indie band,” she wrote. “I just replied to his Instagram Stories asking about his pet.”
She stressed that her late-night message was harmless and not flirty. She admitted she sent it after having “a couple glasses of wine.”
Now, she’s regretting it.
“He didn’t reply, but now I feel like an absolute tit,” she said. “He probably gets loads of messages from fans and doesn’t really read them so I’m probably being unreasonable!”

The woman asked other users on Mumsnet if she was overreacting about her feelings.
In a poll under her post, about 70% of more than 1,000 voters chose the option “You are being unreasonable.”
Some people tried to comfort her. One user replied, “No remorse required, unless you made a cringe pun about his pet along the lines of ‘I wish you were MY little chihuahua!’ And even then it’s just funny.” Another added, “You did nothing wrong.”
A third user even said the story gave them the courage to try something similar: “Inspired by this thread I’ve just commented on a story of a person famous in their niche field, completely unknown outside of that. I wonder if I’ll get a reply.”
