President Donald Trump again rejected any suggestion of misconduct related to Jeffrey Epstein, stating that he has been “totally exonerated.”
Speaking to reporters aboard Air Force One on Thursday, Feb. 19, Trump addressed questions raised following the arrest of Prince Andrew in the United Kingdom. When Fox News correspondent Peter Doocy asked whether American associates of Epstein might also face arrest, Trump responded:
“I’m the expert in a way because I’ve been totally exonerated. That’s very nice. I can actually speak about it very nicely. I think it’s a shame. I did nothing.”
Trump also described Andrew’s arrest as “very sad,” adding that it was “so bad for the royal family.”
According to the BBC, Andrew — formally known as Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor — was arrested on suspicion of misconduct in public office. The allegations stem from claims that he emailed confidential documents to Epstein while serving as a U.K. trade envoy. The complaint was filed by the anti-monarchy organization Republic. Authorities confirmed they had received the complaint and were assessing the information.

Police officers reportedly arrived at Wood Farm in Norfolk, located on King Charles’ Sandringham estate, at approximately 8 a.m. local time. Andrew was taken into custody on suspicion of misconduct in public office.
Trump had made similar remarks earlier in the week. On Monday, Feb. 16, he told reporters:
“I have nothing to hide. I’ve been exonerated. I have nothing to do with Jeffrey Epstein. They went in hoping that they’d find it and found just the opposite. I’ve been totally exonerated.”
Trump was known to have socialized with Epstein during the 1990s and early 2000s. The president has said he later severed ties with the financier and maintained he had no knowledge of Epstein’s criminal activities. In July 2019, Trump stated:
“No, I had no idea. I haven’t spoken to him in many, many years.”
