Donald Trump is threatening legal action against comedian Trevor Noah after a joke at the 2026 Grammy Awards referenced Jeffrey Epstein’s private island, where ***-trafficking crimes were alleged to have occurred.
Noah, 41, hosted the ceremony for what he said was his sixth and final time on Feb. 1. While presenting the Song of the Year award, he quipped that it was the kind of trophy every artist wants “almost as much as Trump wants Greenland,” adding that it “makes sense because Epstein’s island is gone, he needs a new one to hang out with Bill Clinton.”
Clinton, 79, appears in a number of photos included in files made public by the Department of Justice, including images that show him at Epstein’s property. Clinton has not been accused of wrongdoing related to Epstein and has repeatedly denied having any knowledge of Epstein’s crimes.
Trump, 79, responded on Truth Social hours after the broadcast, disputing Noah’s remark and insisting he has never visited the island.

“Noah said, INCORRECTLY about me, that Donald Trump and Bill Clinton spent time on Epstein Island,” Trump wrote. “WRONG!!! I can’t speak for Bill, but I have never been to Epstein Island, nor anywhere close, and until tonight’s false and defamatory statement, have never been accused of being there, not even by the Fake News Media.”
Trump also criticized the Grammys, calling the awards show “the WORST” and “virtually unwatchable,” before noting that Noah said he would not return as host.
“CBS is lucky not to have this garbage litter their airwaves any longer,” Trump wrote, before adding that the host was “almost as bad as Jimmy Kimmel at the Low Ratings Academy Awards.”
He went on to suggest a lawsuit could be coming.
“Noah, a total loser, better get his facts straight, and get them straight fast,” Trump wrote. “It looks like I’ll be sending my lawyers to sue this poor, pathetic, talentless, dope of an M.C., and suing him for plenty$. Ask Little George Slopadopolus, and others, how that all worked out. Also ask CBS!”
“Get ready Noah, I’m going to have some fun with you!” the post concluded.
Separately, a batch of photographs from Epstein’s estate released by the House Oversight Committee in December included some images featuring Trump alongside a group of women whose faces were blurred. Trump has denied wrongdoing tied to his past association with Epstein.
Another image showed Trump depicted in cartoon form on packaging for “Trump Condoms” sold at the Manhattan store Fishs Eddy. Next to the cartoon image, the packaging read, “I’M HUUUUGE!”
After the photos were released, White House spokesperson Abigail Jackson said in a statement that “once again, House Democrats are selectively releasing cherry-picked photos with random redactions to try and create a false narrative.”
“The Democrat hoax against President Trump has been repeatedly debunked and the Trump Administration has done more for Epstein’s victims than Democrats ever have by repeatedly calling for transparency, releasing thousands of pages of documents, and calling for further investigations into Epstein’s Democrat friends,” she said. “It’s time for the media to stop regurgitating Democrat talking points and start asking Democrats why they wanted to hang around Epstein after he was convicted.”
