RFK Jr. says he takes “precautions” to avoid being assassinated like his uncle.

The former director of the CDC’s National Center for Immunization and Respiratory Disease raised a serious concern on Saturday morning, accusing Health and Human Services head Robert F. Kennedy Jr. of promoting eugenics.

Appearing on MSNBC’s The Weekend, Dr. Demetre Daskalakis, who resigned in protest over the firing of CDC Director Susan Monarez, criticized RFK Jr.’s removal of scientists at the CDC, which he says has caused major problems in the department.

Toward the end of the segment, co-host Jackie Alemany pointed out something from Daskalakis’ resignation letter that had been made public.

“There was a line in your resignation letter that really stood out to me,” she said, reading: “‘Eugenics plays prominently in the rhetoric being generated and is derivative of a legacy that good medicine and science should continue to shun.’ Can you explain what you mean by that?”

Daskalakis responded, “I’ll start with my personal experience. My grandfather was in Greece, and he died because he stood up against fascist regimes in his country. When I see the secretary [RFK Jr.] go on television, I immediately got concerned. For example, when he talked about the H5N1 bird flu and chickens, he said all of the chickens should get bird flu. Then, the ones that survive are genetically superior, and they should reproduce to reestablish the flock.”

He continued, “Then, with measles in West Texas, he said getting the infection is fine because only the strong will survive, claiming it makes your immune system stronger. That’s not true. It actually weakens the immune system.”

Daskalakis added, “I hear echoes of the words ‘superior genetics.’ He even referred to some high-ranking members of this administration, saying they have superior genetics, which is eugenics. Wake up—that is a red flag.”
