A woman in her 20s is recovering after being shot multiple times inside her home in London on Christmas Eve, as detectives continue searching for two suspects who remain at large.
In a press release, the Metropolitan Police said officers were called to a home in Peckham at about 10:50 p.m. local time on Dec. 24, 2025, after reports of gunshots.
Police and paramedics from the London Ambulance Service found the woman suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Authorities said she was taken to the hospital in what was described as a potentially life-threatening condition and spent Christmas in critical care. As of Saturday, Jan. 10, she remained hospitalized.
Officials said the woman’s 1-year-old child was inside the home at the time of the shooting but was not injured.
Investigators said two men approached the front door and, moments later, allegedly fired through it, striking the woman. Police believe seven shots were fired.

After the shooting, the two suspects ran from Cronin Street toward Commercial Way, according to officials.
Both men were described as wearing dark clothing. Police said one suspect wore a gray hooded top and is believed to have been carrying a firearm, while the second wore a dark-colored hooded top.
Detective Inspector Jordan Gardner called the incident a “shocking act of violence” and urged the public to help identify those responsible. He said investigators want to hear from anyone who may have seen or heard something—no matter how minor—around the area.
Police are especially interested in information from anyone who was near the intersection of Cronin Street, Commercial Way, or Moody Road between 9:45 p.m. and 11:45 p.m. on Christmas Eve. Officers are also asking residents and drivers in the area to review any doorbell cameras, CCTV, or dash-cam footage that could help identify the suspects or track their movements.
