A 32-year-old woman shared a surprisingly heated disagreement with her 37-year-old boyfriend on Reddit’s “Am I the A——?” forum after he accused her of being “ungrateful” over one small comment about dinner.

“This is the stupidest fight I have ever been a part of,” she wrote.

The tension started on an ordinary night: he warmed up two plates of enchiladas while she rocked their 11-month-old daughter to sleep. When he brought the plates over and asked which one she wanted, she replied, “Whichever one is heated all the way through.”

She explained that her boyfriend doesn’t mind eating food that’s still a bit cold if it means eating faster — but she does. Still, her answer didn’t land the way she expected.

According to her, he rolled his eyes and shot back, “Wow, ungrateful.”

The comment caught her off guard, and she said it hurt. He then argued that she could’ve asked him to heat her plate longer in a “less rude” way, and added, “I am over here trying to feed you,” suggesting she judged the food before even tasting it. She, on the other hand, said the accusation felt insulting.

Unsure whether she’d been rude or whether he’d overreacted, she asked other Reddit users: “Am I the a—– for not wanting cold food?”

After the post drew more than 100 comments, a moderator applied the verdict: “Everyone Sucks.”

In the replies, some people were blunt, calling it sad that the argument escalated at all. Others were more sympathetic, encouraging both partners to give each other a break and move on. One commenter summed up what many seemed to suspect: “You both sound sleep-deprived.”
