A bridesmaid forgot to bring her dress to the wedding — and the bride thinks she did it on purpose.
Another bridesmaid shared the story on Reddit in a group called “Wedding Drama.” She said that all the bridesmaids got their dresses months ago, had fittings, and sent pictures of themselves in the dresses in a group chat.
On the wedding day, one bridesmaid showed up wearing a hoodie and jeans. She laughed and told the bride, “You’re going to kill me… I forgot my dress at home.”
Since the bridesmaid lived just 45 minutes away and the ceremony wasn’t starting for two more hours, the bride told her to go get the dress. But the bridesmaid said, “No, it’s fine, I’ll just skip the pictures,” which confused everyone.

The original poster (OP) said, “Why? She had plenty of time to go get it, and she had her car.”
Later, the bride told the OP that the bridesmaid had been complaining for weeks about not liking how the dress looked on her. The bride seemed to think the bridesmaid forgot the dress on purpose.
In the end, the bridesmaid stayed in her casual clothes, even in the group photos.
The OP said, “The bride smiled through it, but you could tell she was hurt. Now, the pictures look like a ‘Where’s Waldo’ game, with one person standing out.”
In the comments, many people agreed the bride should have removed the bridesmaid from the wedding party when she refused to get her dress.
One person said it would have been better if the bridesmaid had dropped out before the wedding day. She shared her own story about wearing a dress she didn’t like and that was too small, but she did it to support the bride.
She wrote, “The point is to just wear the dress — it’s only one day. It’s not even your day, so what if the dress isn’t flattering? You can bring a second outfit to change into after the pictures and dinner.”
She also added, “But no jeans, hoodies, sweatpants, sneakers, or flip-flops!”
Another reader wondered why the bride even let the bridesmaid appear in the photos, saying, “Those pictures will always remind her that the bridesmaid ruined the big day.
