Authorities have identified the woman found dead aboard a boat at a Montauk yacht club on Tuesday, August 5, as 33-year-old Martha Nolan-O’Slatarra of Manhattan.
According to a press release from Suffolk County Police, officers were called to the Montauk Yacht Club on Star Island Road after receiving a report of an unconscious woman found on a docked boat. Police said bystanders attempted CPR before first responders arrived, but their efforts were unsuccessful.
Nolan-O’Slatarra was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities stated that an initial investigation and on-site examination did not immediately reveal a cause of death. The Suffolk County Medical Examiner’s Office is conducting an autopsy to determine how she died.

Nolan-O’Slatarra was the founder of the clothing brand East x East, which she promoted in her final TikTok video posted in early July. In the July 1 post, she highlighted a pop-up shop the brand had launched at Gurney’s in Montauk, writing, “POV: the brand you started 3 years ago has a pop-up in the Hamptons.”
Originally from Carlow, Ireland, Nolan-O’Slatarra described herself as a “small town girl” who moved to pursue her ambitions. In a 2024 interview with the Irish Independent, she shared her mindset: “I always knew I wanted to be successful, that I was money-driven, business-driven — and that fashion is a tough industry and it would be a slow road.”
Community members at the Montauk Yacht Club remembered her warmly, according to the New York Post. One member said she was “well known in the community,” “very friendly,” and “always smiling,” adding, “There’s going to be a lot of conversation out of this.”
