Prominent voices in President Donald Trump’s Make America Great Again (MAGA) movement reacted Friday after the Department of Justice (DOJ) published a large batch of records connected to the late Jeffrey Epstein and his imprisoned associate, Ghislaine Maxwell. Much of the online response centered on photos showing former President Bill Clinton.
“Bill Clinton in Jeffrey Epstein’s pool. Looking forward to the media obsessively talking about how @BillClinton was nearly naked in a pool with Epstein & Ghislaine Maxwell. But, we all know they won’t show these photos on TV or even mention them. They just want to ‘Get Trump,’” Trump ally Laura Loomer wrote on X, posting images she said were included in the release.
Clinton has consistently said he had no knowledge of Epstein’s crimes.
Why It Matters
The disclosure follows the passage of bipartisan legislation last month that required the government to make Epstein-related materials public by December 19. The effort advanced after supporters of the bill used a procedural move to force a vote.
The release also lands amid ongoing political disputes over transparency. Trump, who had a social relationship with Epstein decades ago before later breaking with him, promised during the 2024 campaign that the records would be released. Trump and his allies have repeatedly insisted he was not involved in Epstein’s criminal conduct, and they argue there is no evidence tying him to Epstein’s abuse.
How MAGA Figures Responded
Several right-leaning commentators and influencers focused their reactions on the photos of Clinton that appeared in the disclosed materials, presenting the images as suspicious and urging further scrutiny.
Rogan O’Handley, a lawyer and right-wing commentator, wrote on X: “New Epstein Files show Bill Clinton shirtless in a hot tub with a female that is not his wife Hillary Clinton. There’s only 1 reason Epstein would photograph a US President with a girl in a hot tub: Blackmail.”
Right-wing influencer Nick Sorter posted: “New photo of Bill Clinton swimming with Ghislaine Maxwell and a potential victim and/or minor Per the Epstein Files Transparency Act, DOJ was specifically instructed only to redact the faces of victims and/or minors This is pretty damning for Bill Clinton.”
The X account MAGA Voice posted: “Hey Bill Clinton [hand waving emoji] who were you swimming with ?” In a separate post, the account repeated seven times that “BILL CLINTON NEEDS TO BE INVESTIGATED.”
Christian musician Sean Feucht also weighed in, writing on X: “BAD NEWS FOR BILL CLINTON A picture of Bill Clinton with an unidentified woman in a hot tub has surfaced in the Epstein files…”
What’s in the DOJ Release
The DOJ made public thousands of records tied to Epstein on Friday as part of what it described as a major disclosure. The materials were released in four large data sets and are listed under the “Epstein Files Transparency Act” section of the DOJ website.
The documents include items such as photos, call logs, grand jury testimony, and interview transcripts. Many pages are redacted, and some materials had already circulated publicly.
Epstein and Maxwell appear frequently in the images. The release also includes appearances by several public figures, including Kevin Spacey, Chris Tucker, and Bill Clinton, among others.
Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche said Friday that additional material would be released in the coming weeks, and the DOJ disclosure so far may not fully satisfy the law’s requirements.
What Had Already Been Made Public
Over the past year, large volumes of Epstein-related records have surfaced through prior disclosures and other releases, offering partial views into Epstein’s contacts and activities while leaving many details obscured by redactions.
Recent disclosures listed in the article include:
- Dec. 18, 2025: Democrats released 68 photos from a trove of 95,000 obtained from Epstein’s estate.
- Dec. 12, 2025: A batch of photos featuring figures such as President Trump, former President Bill Clinton, Larry Summers, Woody Allen, and Steve Bannon. None is implicated in Epstein’s crimes.
- Dec. 4, 2025: Seventy-three photos and four videos of Epstein’s private island, Little St. James, where he allegedly abused underage girls.
- Nov. 12, 2025: Twenty thousand estate records, including emails referencing Trump and exchanges with Larry Summers and Bill Gates.
- Sept. 8, 2025: Material including a 2003 birthday note to Epstein that appeared signed by Trump, which he has denied.
- Sept. 2, 2025: More than 33,000 Justice Department files, including flight logs and cell block video footage.
- Aug. 22, 2025: Transcript and audio of Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche’s interview with Ghislaine Maxwell.
- Feb. 27, 2025: White House binders labeled “Epstein Files: Phase 1,” which contained little new information.
What People Are Saying
After the release, White House spokesperson Abigail Jackson said: “By releasing thousands of pages of documents, cooperating with the House Oversight Committee’s subpoena request, and President Trump recently calling for further investigations into Epstein’s Democrat friends, the Trump Administration has done more for the victims than Democrats ever have.” She also described the Trump administration as the “most transparent in history.”
Clinton spokesperson Angel Ureña reiterated a 2019 statement: “President Clinton knows nothing about the terrible crimes Jeffrey Epstein pleaded guilty to in Florida some years ago, or those with which he has been recently charged in New York.”
Maxwell said in an interview earlier this year with Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche: “President Clinton was my friend, not Epstein’s friend. President Clinton liked me, and we got along terribly well. But I never saw that warmth with Mr. Epstein.”
Representative Thomas Massie said in a social media video ahead of the release: “If we get a large production on Dec. 19 and it does not contain a single name of any male who is accused of a crime or trafficking or rape or any of these things, then we know they haven’t produced all the documents. It’s that simple.”
Trump’s White House Chief of Staff Susie Wiles said in an interview with Vanity Fair prior to the release that Trump “is in the file,” but “he’s not in the file doing anything awful.”
Representative Ro Khanna said after the release: “Thomas Massie and I will continue to explore all options to fight to make sure that they comply with the law, whether that is holding people in inherent contempt, recommending people for prosecution, recommending impeachment, or private lawsuits… So far, I have not seen much new.”
What Happens Next
More Epstein-related records are expected to be published in the coming weeks, according to Blanche.
