As rescue efforts continue following catastrophic flooding in central Texas, new information is coming to light about the young girls still missing from a Christian summer camp along the Guadalupe River.
The floods, which struck on July 4, have claimed at least 25 lives—24 in Kerr County and one in Kendall County, according to CNN. Amid the devastation, 23 girls from Camp Mystic, a private girls-only summer camp in Hunt, Texas, remain unaccounted for, Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick confirmed in a press conference.
Camp Mystic housed around 750 campers at the time of the disaster. The Guadalupe River rose to its second-highest level ever recorded, contributing to a chaotic and urgent evacuation effort overnight.
Among those still missing is 8-year-old Hadley Hanna from Dallas. Her mother shared with local station WFAA that Hadley’s father is actively searching the area in Kerr County alongside first responders.
Friends Eloise Peck and Lila Bonner, also from Dallas, were staying in the same cabin and have not been located. Tragically, loved ones later confirmed Lila Bonner has died. Another camper, Janie Hunt, was also confirmed deceased.
Others still missing include Molly DeWitt, Lainey Landry, Kellyanne Lytal, Greta Toranzo, and Virginia Hollis, according to reports from family members and local outlets including KSAT, Fox 26 Houston, and CNN.

Greta, a student at Sinclair Elementary, was reported missing by her school in a social media post. “We are devastated to share that one of our Sinclair students is missing from Camp Mystic,” the school wrote. “Her parents have asked that her photo be widely shared as the search continues. Please keep Greta and her family in your thoughts.”
Photos of the missing girls have been circulated by the OKCM Search & Rescue Team on Facebook, along with messages of support for the families enduring this tragedy.
Texas Governor Greg Abbott said the state is deploying every available resource to the affected areas, including Kerrville, Ingram, and Hunt. “We urge Texans to follow local officials’ guidance and avoid flooded areas,” he stated in a release on July 4.
The Kerr County Sheriff’s Office has not yet released an updated list of those still missing.
As families and first responders hold out hope for more recoveries, communities across Texas and beyond are rallying around those affected by this heartbreaking disaster.
