A 22-year-old Kentucky woman and her unborn child have died following a shooting outside a local restaurant, prompting authorities to upgrade charges against the suspect to murder and fetal homicide.
The victim, Ava Woodcock, passed away Tuesday at the University of Louisville Hospital, three days after the April 4 attack. Glasgow Police Department officials confirmed that Woodcock’s unborn child also did not survive the incident.
The violence unfolded Saturday in the parking lot of Annie’s Restaurant on Cleveland Avenue. According to investigative reports, Woodcock had pulled into the lot and honked her horn. In response, 24-year-old Brandon Lee Bond allegedly crossed the street, approached Woodcock’s vehicle, and opened fire.
Following the gunfire, Woodcock’s vehicle remained in motion until it crashed. While initial reports contained conflicting information regarding whether the victim was inside or outside the car immediately following the shots, police have since focused the investigation on the sequence of events leading up to the confrontation.

Law enforcement located Bond in a nearby wooded area shortly after he fled the scene. Officials described Bond as “very uncooperative” during his arrest and noted that he had been consuming alcohol throughout the day of the shooting.
As a result of the deaths, the Glasgow Police Department has upgraded Bond’s charges to:
- Murder – Domestic Violence
- Fetal Homicide (1st Degree)
- Fleeing/Evading Police (1st Degree)
Bond was initially booked on attempted murder and attempted fetal homicide charges while Woodcock remained in critical condition. The “domestic violence” designation indicates a prior relationship between the suspect and the victim, though police have not yet detailed the specific nature of their connection.

The tragedy has shaken the Glasgow community. Woodcock is survived by a 1-year-old daughter. A GoFundMe campaign established to support the family has already neared its $10,000 goal, with organizers describing the event as a “senseless act of violence.”
The investigation remains active as detectives work to finalize the timeline of the attack. Under Kentucky law, first-degree fetal homicide is a capital offense, reflecting the severity of the charges now facing Bond.
