President Donald Trump continues to deny any wrongdoing in connection with Jeffrey Epstein.
Speaking to reporters aboard Air Force One on Thursday, Feb. 19 — hours after former Prince Andrew was arrested in the U.K. — Trump said he is not hiding anything related to Epstein and claimed he has been “totally exonerated.”
“On Prince Andrew, do you think American associates of Jeffrey Epstein will wind up in handcuffs too?” Fox News’ Peter Doocy asked Trump, 79.
“I’m the expert in a way because I’ve been totally exonerated. That’s very nice. I can actually speak about it very nicely. I think it’s a shame. I did nothing,” Trump replied.
He went on to call Andrew’s arrest a “shame,” adding that he believed it was damaging for the royal family. “It’s very sad. I think it’s so bad for the royal family. It’s very sad. It’s a very sad thing. To me, it’s a very sad thing,” he said.

Trump’s comments came after Andrew — now known as Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor — was arrested on allegations of misconduct in public office. The arrest followed claims that he emailed confidential documents with Epstein while serving as a U.K. trade envoy, according to the BBC.
The complaint was filed by the anti-monarchy group Republic. Police confirmed to the BBC that they had received the complaint and were “assessing the information.”
At around 8 a.m. local time, officers arrived at Wood Farm in Norfolk, located on King Charles’ Sandringham estate, where Andrew recently moved after being forced to surrender the lease on Royal Lodge. He was arrested on “suspicion of misconduct in public office.”
Trump made similar statements on Monday, Feb. 16, again denying wrongdoing or ties to Epstein.
“I have nothing to hide. I’ve been exonerated. I have nothing to do with Jeffrey Epstein,” he told reporters on Air Force One.

“They went in hoping that they’d find it and found just the opposite,” Trump said. “I’ve been totally exonerated.”
Trump was reportedly friends with Epstein in the 1990s and early 2000s, but has said he later cut off contact and was unaware of Epstein’s crimes. He has repeatedly denied any wrongdoing during their past association.
In July 2019, when asked whether he had known about Epstein molesting girls, Trump told reporters: “No, I had no idea. I had no idea. I haven’t spoken to him in many, many years. But I had — I didn’t have no idea.”
