Ivanna Lisette Ortiz, the Florida woman accused of targeting Rihanna’s residence in a brazen daylight shooting, pleaded not guilty to attempted murder and a battery of felony charges Wednesday in Los Angeles Superior Court.

The March 25 plea follows a high-stakes investigation into the March 8 incident, where Ortiz allegedly opened fire on the Beverly Hills estate shared by the billionaire mogul, her partner A$AP Rocky, and their three young children.

High Bail Maintained Amid Life Sentence Threat

Ortiz, 35, faces a grim legal future. The Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office has charged her with:

  • One count of attempted murder.
  • Ten felony counts of assault with a semiautomatic firearm.
  • Three felony counts of shooting at an inhabited dwelling.

During the hearing, Ortiz’s public defender petitioned the court to reduce her $1.875 million bail to $70,000, citing her inability to pay. The judge denied the request, citing the severity of the allegations and the potential for a life sentence if she is convicted on all counts.

Details of the Assault

Prosecutors allege that on March 8, Ortiz drove to the gated property and discharged an AR-style semiautomatic rifle at the home. While no injuries were reported, sources close to the family indicate the ordeal left the singer “deeply shaken.”

Following the shooting, the suspect allegedly fled the scene before being apprehended by law enforcement in Sherman Oaks.

Investigating the Motive

While a definitive motive remains elusive, investigators are scrutinizing Ortiz’s digital footprint. A licensed speech pathologist by profession, Ortiz reportedly posted several cryptic messages on social media leading up to the attack.

One Facebook post, uploaded two weeks prior to the shooting, appeared to address the singer directly: “Say something to me directly instead of sneaking around like you talking to me.” The investigation remains ongoing as authorities work to determine how Ortiz obtained the high-powered weapon and whether the attack was the result of a long-term fixation.
