Woman Gave Birth to Her 3rd Baby, but Says She Didn’t Even Know She Was Pregnant: ‘I’m Just Stunned’

A Virginia woman recently had her third baby — but says she didn’t even know she was pregnant.

Becca Johnson of Chesterfield County, just south of Richmond, woke up with back pain on Tuesday, Sept. 9, according to local news outlet WWBT.

She and her husband went to the local ER, where the pain got worse.

“I can’t sit at this point. My back is killing me,” she told WWBT. “I’m telling them it’s my back, but it’s now radiating to my front. They’re thinking kidney stones or cysts.”

Johnson said she then felt the urge to go to the bathroom. Once there, she felt something unusual between her legs and told a nearby nurse.

“She looks over and she goes, ‘That’s a head,’ ” the mom of two said.

“My husband’s face just goes blank. I’m just stunned,” she continued. “I’m not a speechless person, but I went speechless.”

The nurses quickly brought her back to a stretcher, and she delivered a healthy baby girl in about three pushes. The couple named her Carlee Evangeline, and she weighed 7 lbs., 6 oz., according to WWBT.

Johnson told WWBT that she had no symptoms during the pregnancy and even doubted she could have more children because of past fertility problems.

She had struggled to get pregnant with her first child, born in 2016, and doctors had warned her she might not conceive again without medical help because of polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS).

Despite that, Johnson gave birth again in 2024 before this most recent delivery.

Her advice to other women facing fertility challenges?

“Never give up hope and prayer,” she said. “Don’t give up.”
