Authorities in Franklin County have identified three Georgia high school students killed in a fiery single-vehicle collision during a spring break trip to the Florida Panhandle.

The Franklin County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that Jackson Mobley (18), Jaylyn Fehr (17), and Charlotte Martin (16) died Monday, April 6, when their vehicle veered off the road and struck a tree near St. George Island. The impact caused the vehicle to immediately catch fire.

The Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) reports the accident occurred as the four teenagers were traveling to visit family and friends. While the exact cause remains under investigation, Sheriff AJ Tony Smith indicated that investigators have yet to determine the vehicle’s speed or the specific factors that led the car to leave the shoulder of the road.

“Life is precious, and we would like to honor their lives and memories here in our community,” the Sheriff’s Office stated, announcing that three memorial crosses will be placed at the crash site.

A fourth passenger, Jamison Mobley (17)—the sister of Jackson Mobley—was rescued from the wreckage and transported by Survival Flight to a nearby trauma center.

Community tributes from Horizon Christian Academy, where all four were students, suggest that Jackson’s final actions may have been instrumental in saving his sister’s life. The school described him as a “gentle giant” and an “incredible brother,” stating that his final moments were spent ensuring Jamison’s safety.

The tragedy has devastated the Horizon Christian Academy community in Cumming, Georgia.

  • Jaylyn Fehr, a junior and honor roll student, was a standout on the school’s volleyball team with aspirations of pursuing a career in law.
  • Charlotte Martin, also a junior and volleyball player, was remembered as a “ray of sunshine” known for her deep faith and kindness.

In a formal statement, the school urged the public to support the families and pray for Jamison’s recovery. “The void Jack, Jaylyn, and Charlotte leave behind is insurmountable,” the school shared in a social media tribute.

FHP officials have not released further details regarding the mechanical state of the vehicle or road conditions at the time of the incident. This remains a developing story.
