Former Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) has detailed a definitive collapse in her relationship with Donald Trump, alleging the former president blamed her for death threats directed at her children.
In a Wednesday interview on Piers Morgan’s “Uncensored” podcast, Greene described Trump’s response to her family’s safety concerns as the “nail in the coffin” for their once-indissoluble political alliance. The revelation marks the most personal escalation yet in a public feud that has fractured the MAGA movement since Greene’s resignation from Congress in early 2026.
A Relationship Beyond Repair
Greene told Morgan that she reached out to Trump via text after receiving a surge of violent threats, including a reported pipe bomb threat at her residence. Rather than offering support, Greene claims Trump suggested that she would be responsible if her children were harmed.
“He said if my son were to get killed, it would be my fault,” Greene told Morgan. “He had no compassion whatsoever.”
The former Georgia congresswoman directly linked the escalation of these threats to Trump’s public rhetoric. Following a fallout over the release of Jeffrey Epstein-related files in late 2025, Trump repeatedly labeled Greene a “traitor.” Greene noted that the death threats she forwarded to the FBI often mirrored the specific language used by the former president in his public attacks.
Trump Dismisses Safety Concerns
Trump has maintained an aggressive posture toward his former surrogate. When recently questioned by reporters about the threats Greene has faced, he dismissed the severity of the situation.
“I don’t think her life is in danger,” Trump stated, adding, “Frankly, I don’t think anybody cares about her.”
Greene expressed shock at the dismissal, noting that even her “biggest political enemies” and congressional Democrats would not have reacted with such a lack of care regarding the safety of a colleague’s children.
The 2026 Political Fallout
The rift represents a seismic shift in the Republican landscape. Greene, once one of Trump’s most vocal defenders on Capitol Hill, broke with the movement following deep-seated policy disputes and disagreements over foreign affairs.
“I thought that tells me exactly who—it’s like a nail in the coffin. It tells me exactly who Donald Trump is,” Greene said.
As of Thursday, the Trump camp has not issued a formal response to the specific allegations regarding the text exchange, though the former president continues to maintain his public campaign against her. For Greene, the exchange serves as a final severance from the movement she once helped lead, citing a fundamental lack of “compassion or care” for human life as the breaking point.
